If you are planning a Valentine's Day date but don't have a big budget, don't worry. You don't have to spend a bundle on expensive gifts to have a good time. Here are 12 thrifty ideas for Valentine's Day for under $50.
Valentine's Day chocolate

One night at a hotel

Spending a night with each other in a hotel on Valentine's Day can be a lot of fun and can help eliminate distractions to set the mood. Even a trip to an inexpensive hotel can spice up the night on this special day of love. You should be able to find a nice, clean hotel in your area for under $50 if you book well in advance.

Valentine's Day dinner

A special dinner

Even if you only have $50 to spend on Valentine's Day, you can still have a fantastic dinner out on the town. Instead of an upscale establishment, pick a location with sentimental value - like the place you had your first date. If a restaurant's dinner prices are too high, consider going for lunch or cook dinner at home instead.

Digital photo album

For under $35, you can get a digital photo album that can store more than 400 digital pictures. For Valentine's Day, you can purchase this gift and fill the album with pictures of the two of you together.

Incense

Heighten your senses with aromatic fragrance on Valentine's Day. You can purchase 40 sticks of herbal Tibetan incense for less than $5 and have plenty of money left over to spend elsewhere, like on chocolates or flowers.

Cookies

If you are short on funds, you can always bake some Valentine's Day cookies or other sweet treats. To make the cookies with a Valentine's Day theme, follow this recipe for Toll House heart shaped cookies.

Candles

Scented candles

Candles make great Valentine's Day gifts because they are sensual - plus they are inexpensive! You can get a scented love candle for only $9.45. The flickering flame and delectable aromas will put you both in the mood for love.

Manicure and pedicure

Call a local salon and get a price quote for a manicure and pedicure. Around Valentine's Day, many salons have specials that will allow you to send your sweetheart for manicure and pedicure without you having to spend an arm and a leg.

Pajamas

You can get both pajamas for her and pajamas for him for less than $50. Lounging in pajamas is a good way to start off your Valentine's Day experience.

Valentine's Massage

Massage oils

You can purchase massage oils online to give your partner a Valentine's Day massage they'll never forget. If you are lucky, your partner will return the favor and give you a massage of your own.

Satin pillowcases

An easy and inexpensive way to make your bed a more relaxing place is by upgrading your pillowcases. At Target you can find a 100% silk satin blush pillowcase for only $24.99 that makes a great Valentine's Day gift.

Sex toys

Ready to just get down to business on Valentine's Day? It's easy to find sex toys that cost less than $50. Shop together online to pick an array of toys that you will both enjoy.

Love poems

The good news is that even if you don't have any money at all on Valentine's Day, you can still give a meaningful gift. All you need is a pen, a pad and the inspiration of your love. Writing a love poem is a gift that will really touch the heart.

I've definitly got to agree with the Candles, pajamas, and satin bedding, I treated myself to satin sheets once, and now I'm too spoiled for anything else, add in silk pajamas and a couple candles, and I feel like a spoiled princess, I personally hope that my honey gets me those three, even just one of those.
